On May 24, 2024, Seaside Library (116-15 Rockaway Beach Blvd.) closed for what was supposed to be 12 months to replace the HVAC system. Almost two years later, the library is finally set to reopen on Thursday, February 5.

To celebrate the long-awaited occasion, Seaside Library will be hosting several activities. The library will open and welcome everyone starting at 12 p.m. At 12:30 p.m., there will be children’s storytime with guest speakers, and an arts and crafts session to create bookmarks, mini journals and more until 2 p.m. At 2 p.m. will be a film screening. At 4:30 p.m. will be a teen and adult activity hour featuring board games and puzzles. And at 5:30 p.m. until 7 p.m. will be an open mic and karaoke session.

The library will be open through 8 p.m., offering the ability to once again browse materials, sign up for a library card and to even spin a wheel for a chance to win prizes. All are welcome.

Seaside Library funders include the Office of NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani, the Office of NYC Councilwoman Joann Ariola and the Office of Queens Borough President Donovan Richards.

Please note that the last day for the mobile library van will be Monday, February 2. For more information about Seaside Library, located between Beach 116th and Beach 117th on Rockaway Beach Blvd., call 718-634-1876 or check out www.QueensLibrary.org
