Prost! Steins were hoisted up in a cheers to St. Francis de Sales at their annual Oktoberfest fundraiser. After taking a break due to Covid, the event was back in full force on Friday, September 29, as locals filled the schoolyard for a fun celebration of German culture.
The event included brats, pretzels and other delicacies served up by Mike Egan, a beer truck, a German auction featuring some great prizes, music by The Knobs, performances by German dancers and a big 50/50, with proceeds going toward the church. Even Father Bill Sweeney got into the spirit of the occasion by donning some lederhosen. A good time was had by all and the winner of the 50/50 went home with a whopping $81,000 prize.
