SFDS Supports Stockings for a Cause
St. Francis de Sales is getting in the stocking spirit. Are you?
Belle Harbor’s Catholic school has joined in on Stockings for a Cause this year and has been finding various ways to raise more funds for Sgt. Jason Walker, a wounded veteran who could use some help with a new smart home built through Tunnel to Towers.
St. Francis has been selling them during report card conferences this week to interested families. In addition to that, students in each homeroom have been asked to make a $2 donation towards their homeroom stockings. This entails making their own money, through collecting loose change or making money in exchange for housework.
Bars and restaurants are hanging stockings with care, so head to Pico, The Wharf, Bungalow Bar, Margie’s, Happy Jack’s, the Harbor Light, Healy’s, La Sorrentina, the Belle Harbor Yacht Club (BHYC) and the Knights of Columbus in Rockaway, Sugar Bowl and Kennedy’s in Breezy Point, Adrienne’s in Broad Channel, and give a $25 donation to have a stocking hung in your name. Direct donations can also be made by scanning the QR Code.
