Sitting Out

 Sitting Out

Dear Editor:

I used to go to each election to vote. This year, I’m skipping. Let me explain why.
We have to elect Mayor of the City of New York. This position means the city’s top manager and host. This person would be in charge of the city economy. It includes street cleaning, street repairs, repair of bridges, fighting the unauthorized dumps, fighting any authorized trash at the public trash bins, punishment for the unleashed dogs and dogs’ pooping, etc. This is not a political position – this is about the city management. So, it should be a person ready and willing to be involved in such stinky issues.

Instead of that, all candidates are talking about politics – just politics, only politics and politics exceptionally. After Rudy Giuliani, NYC has had mayors with no understanding about economy and management (maybe Michael Bloomberg tried to some extent, but he moved towards political verbiage later anyway).

What’s the sense to go to the election? City would be trashed, pooped and with potholes regardless of who would be named as mayor.
