Spring Into Health Fair

The Cornerstone Community Center, located at 426 Beach 40th Street, hosted a spring health fair on Saturday, May 17. Brian Davis, program director of The Child Center of NY, and his team of youths brought this very important event to the community. Some of the participating partners included NYC Department of Youth and Community Development, NYC Health and Hospitals, NYCHA, NYC Department of Social Services and NYC Interagency Coordinating Council on Youth. There were resources, mental health information, access to medical insurance, free and confidential HIV testing and STI screenings, bouncy houses for the kids, and other activities focused on topics such as blood pressure awareness, education, and screenings.  Participants also enjoyed the candle making session and DJ Power provided music for all.
