St. Camillus is Alive and Well!

St. Camillus is Alive and Well!

Dear Editor:

Even on a frigid Sunday, St. Camillus was warm with the renewed St. Camillus community attending Mass. A few months back, we were in the darkness being tested with the announcement that St. Camillus was closing. However today, with the perseverance of the Rockaway community and parishioners, we are shining our light. St. Camillus is alive breathing with new life and hope. Our hearts will continue to be firm, full of trust in the Lord.

Thank you to all who continue to join us in the emergence of St. Camillus. Thank you to Fr. Rodriguez for his words of support as he sees the increase in attendance each Sunday. Also we appreciate that he allocated funds to purchase a replacement for the organ. Thank you also to Fr. Chuck and Deacon Mike for celebrating Mass and their words of encouragement. And of course, I can’t leave Jim McCabe out. With his voice, music and now the new organ, the Spirit is truly felt. The Lord is definitely working in St. Camillus!

So thank you Bishop Brennan for giving us the opportunity to show our support and need for St. Camillus to remain a beacon of light for the Rockaway community.

We need to thank the bishop in taking his time to review all possibilities for the future of St. Camillus while allowing us time to show our need for St. Camillus in Rockaway. His email address is Bishopofbrooklyn@diobrook.org.
