Summer Classic Week 5

We’re in week five of the Summer Classic. The Grammar School and High School divisions are a few weeks into their season, and these are the early leaders:

Boys Grammar Middle – Bungalow Bar (4-0) and McManus Mechanical (4-0). Boys Grammar Senior – Kill, Wood, Ace, Mann & Delaney (3-0) and SFDS CA (2-0). Boys High School – Paul’s Bicycle Shop (5-1) and Blue Bear Risk Management (3-1). Girls Grammar Senior – Mullin Basketball Camp (3-0) and Creamer Street Realty (2-1). Girls High School – Callie’s (2-0).

In the Clare Droesch Women’s Open division, Pico/Batesy’s and Crush Studio are both 2-0. BHYC and Champion Elevators are 1-0. The Tim Klein Men’s Open divisions are already nearing the end of their regular season. In Division 1, Callie’s (5-1) knocked off Kennedy’s Restaurant (4-1) to move into the top spot. JG Electric and A & S at the Harbor are both 3-2. Cabana (3-3) won its third in a row. Rockaway Beach Local won on a buzzer beater to move to 2-4. Jameson’s is 1-4 and Harbor Light 1-5. In Division 2, LUV Cleaning and Team Crate lead at 4-1. Conte Carpets is 4-2. Tap That and Coastal Real Estate are both 3-3. ServPro is 2-4. Simple Tackle and Boarders Surf Shop are both 1-4. All eight games last Thursday were decided by four points or less including three that went to overtime.

The Graybeards have their semifinals tonight, Thursday, July 18, at St. Camillus Springman Hall with the Legends games first, followed by the Young Guns.

The action is really heating up so don’t miss the games at the 40th St. Francis Summer Classic.
