Teen Shot in Arverne
On Wednesday night, April 1, a 16-year-old boy was shot in the chest at 133 Beach 56th Place. The victim is expected to be okay, but police are still searching for a suspect.
The shooting occurred around 8:24 p.m. at the Arverne View apartment complex on April 1. Police had responded to a call for a male shot and found the teen with a gunshot wound to this torso. EMS responded and transported the teen to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where he was listed in stable condition. Police are still searching for the gunman who was wearing a black ski mask. No other description is available, no arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
This incident occurred one day after another man was shot in the leg at Beach 102nd Street and Rockaway Beach Blvd.
