THE BASEMENT

 THE BASEMENT

If you want to sell your house and you do not have a finished basement, don’t panic! Basements are not considered part of the usual living space. For example, when we say that a house has 3,000 square feet of living space, this does not include the basement – even if it is finished! Of course, if you have a finished basement, then this can add to the house’s value and make it a bit easier to sell. However, it is usually not of paramount importance.

On the other hand, if you want to improve your quality of life and/or make your house a bit more valuable, then fixing up an unfinished basement is an option. This can be accomplished for a reasonable amount of money depending on the size of your basement and what you want to accomplish. One of my clients recently fixed up their basement quite nicely. They put down new floors and refurbished the basement bathroom. Give me a call for a list of local contractors.

Yesterday, June 21 was the occasion of the summer solstice – the days are longer – we now have more daylight than at any other time of the year.  Enjoy! Call me. Love, Robin.
