On Saturday, September 7 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., head to Rockaway Market Street @ Beach 60th and the Rockaway Freeway to shop from local vendors. Brass Meets World will be the musical performer.
Jamaica Bay Park Pals
On Saturday, September 7 at 10:30 a.m., head to the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge for Park Pals, a program designed to engage families with young children (ages 0-6 years old) in safe nature exploration. Activities include themed read-alouds, discovery walks led by a Ranger, crafts, and more! Pre-registration is required via www.jbrpc.org/parkpals
Hawk Watch
On Saturday, September 7 at 10:30 a.m., head to Battery Harris in Fort Tilden to join a park ranger for the chance to see birds of prey like Osprey, Peregrine Falcons, and Bald Eagles as they fly overhead during the peak fall migration. Learn to ID them by silhouette and at rest. This will take place at the overlook above Battery Harris at Fort Tilden. Cancelled if raining.
Jamaica Bay 101
On Sunday, September 8 at 10:30 a.m., head to the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge to join a Park Ranger to learn about Jamaica Bay’s history and wildlife! Meet in front of the visitor center for a guided walk of the West Pond Trail. Sunscreen and insect repellant encouraged. Binoculars available.
Community Board 14
On Tuesday, September 10 at 7 p.m., head to the Knights of Columbus (333 Beach 90th Street) for the monthly Community Board 14 meeting. Presentations about illegal smoke shops, planned shutdown of the A train, microgrids and more. If public speaking, show up early to sign up.
Debate Watch Party
On Tuesday, September 10 at 8 p.m., head to Dred Surfer (16-20 Seagirt Blvd.) for a presidential debate party hosted by democrat Assemblymember Khaleel Anderson and Councilwoman Selvena Brooks-Powers.
9/11 Ceremony at Tribute Park
On Wednesday, September 11 at 8:30 a.m., head to Tribute Park on Beach 116th and the bay for the 23rd annual 9/11 remembrance ceremony with the reading of the names of the fallen, placing of the roses and music by Aerial Acoustics and Chazmond Peacock.
Team Challenge at the Beach
On Saturday, September 14, head to the Beach 94th Amphitheater for Team Challenge at the Beach’s 5-mile race in support of Prostate Cancer Research at Mt. Sinai Hospital. Pre-race check in at 8:30 a.m., The race begins at 10 a.m. Register at: www.teamchallengeatthebeach.com
Dog Parade
On Saturday, September 14 at 11 a.m., head to the Beach 108th hockey rink and dress your dog in their outer space or cosmic best for a parade down the boardwalk to Beach 94th Street. $5 to enter. Prizes for the best dressed.

On Saturdays and Sundays through September 8, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., head to the Rockaway Artists Alliance Gallery in Fort Tilden to see the latest art exhibit.

On Saturdays at 11 a.m., head to Beach 60th and the boardwalk to join Gloria for this total-body, non-contact workout for all fitness levels.
Yoga with Soupy
On Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8:30 a.m., head to Beach 102nd Street for a yoga class led by Soupy Campbell.
Yoga at Riis
