On Saturday, October 12 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., head to Beach 60th and the Rockaway Freeway for all day Halloween fun. Bring your little ghouls and goblins for sweet treats. And show off your creative costumes. Prizes for the best-dressed participants.
7th Annual Raptorama
On Saturday, October 12 at 10 a.m., head to the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge to learn all about the hawks and owls of Jamaica Bay. See some of these amazing raptors during a live demonstration and go on walks with NPS Rangers and partners to get a look at hawk species flying south for the winter.
Community Park Shoreline Cleanup
On Saturday, October 12 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., head to Rockaway Community Park at Beach 58th Street and Almeda Ave. for a JBRPC shoreline cleanup event supported by Councilmember Selvena Brooks-Powers and Assemblymember Khaleel Anderson. Help remove trash and debris from the shoreline and surrounding park while enjoying incredible views of Jamaica Bay!

Fall Foliage Walk
On Monday, October 14 at 2 p.m., head to the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge to join a park ranger to learn why Jamaica Bay plants like roses, cacti, and poison ivy change in the fall, how they prepare for the winter ahead, and what their new red, orange, or yellow colors tell us about them. This is an all-weather walk, so please dress for the conditions.

Night
On Tuesday, October 15 at 7 p.m., head to P.S. 114 (400 Beach 135th Street) for the monthly Belle Harbor Property Owners Association meeting. It will feature a presentation from St. John’s hospital and a recap of our summer success against crime with NYPD, but the feature event will be Candidates Night. Assemblywoman Stacey Pheffer Amato and challenger Tom Sullivan will be in attendance as well as Senate candidate Mike O’Reilly. Learn about where they stand on issues.

On Saturdays and Sundays from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m., head to Rockaway Artist Alliance’s T7 Gallery in Fort Tilden to see their newest art exhibit, Portal: Rockaway. Open weekends through October 13.

On Saturdays at 11 a.m., head to Beach 60th and the boardwalk to join Gloria for this total-body, non-contact workout for all fitness levels.

On Mondays from 11 a.m. to 11:45 a.m., head to RISE (58-03 Rockaway Beach Boulevard), as Ann Fosteris teaches a free 45-minute exercise class. All ages and fitness levels are welcome!
Core on the Floor
On Mondays from 11:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., head to RISE (58-03 Rockaway Beach Boulevard), as Ann Fosteris leads a free 30-minute class focusing on core and lower body. Participants should bring their own mats. All levels are welcome!
