Stockings for a Cause & Santa Claus

On Saturday, December 14 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., head to Jameson’s Pub (421 Beach 129th Street) for a day of holiday family fun with photos with Santa, arts and crafts, face painting, food and more. $10 per child.

Rockaway Hotel Holiday Market

On Saturday, December 14 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., head to the Rockaway Hotel (108-10 Rockaway Beach Dr.) to shop from several local vendors this holiday season.

SFDS Tree & Angel Lighting

On Saturday, December 14 at 4:30 p.m., head to St. Francis de Sales Church on Beach 129th Street for Mass followed by the lighting of the church’s trees and angels in the prayer garden.

Christmas Bird Count

On Sunday, December 15 at 10 a.m., head to the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge to join a park ranger and help with the Christmas Bird Count! Count the birds you see throughout the walk to help Audubon with their research. Dress for the weather. Binoculars provided.

Locals Helping Locals Toy Event

On Sunday, December 14 at 1 p.m., head to Grind Time Skate Shop (91-13 Rockaway Beach Blvd.) for a toy giveaway, photos with Santa, arts and crafts, snacks, music and more. Child must be present to receive a toy.

RBAF Holiday Party

On Sunday, December 15 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., head to the Knights of Columbus (333 Beach 90th St.) for Rockaway Beach Autism Families’ 6th Annual Holiday Party. Music, dance performances, gifts from Santa, free raffle, food, Best Dressed Man in Rockaway and more.

Full Cold Moon Hike

On Sunday, December 15 at 4:30 p.m., head to the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge and set off on a hike. Learn about the traditional name for this moon and look for signs of the story it represents. All ages welcome. Flashlights and/or headlamps are recommended. Dress for the weather. Heavy rain/storms event cancelled.

CB14 Health Committee Meeting

On Wednesday, December 18 at 7 p.m., head to 19-09 Plainview Ave. for Community Board 14’s Health & Social Services committee meeting on the pending closure on Neponsit Adult Day Health Care program.

Santa Suit/ Grinch Run/ Walk

On Saturday, December 21, Rockaway Track Club is hosting its Santa Suit/ Grinch Suit 5K run or one mile walk. Check in and late registration at 9 a.m. at Healy’s Pub (108-07 Rockaway Beach Dr.). Run/walk begins at 10 a.m. on the Beach 108th boardwalk. Pre-register at Rockawaytc.org

Bodyweight Circuit Training

On Tuesdays at 5 p.m., head to The B.R.I.D.G.E. (217 Beach 92nd Street) for a circuit training class that combines bodyweight resistance training and conditioning for a full-body workout. All levels welcome. Bring a mat.  First-come, first-served.

Cardio Punch

On Thursdays through May 1, at 6 p.m., head to the Arverne meeting room (312 Beach 54th Street) to join Gloria for this total-body, non-contact workout for all fitness levels.

Uplifted Dance Fitness

On Mondays and Tuesdays at 11 a.m., head to Redfern Community Center (1544 Hassock Street) for a free dance workout class with Miss Dawn.
