Rockaway Warriors Parade

On Thursday, July 10 at around 6:30 p.m., line the streets of Rockaway Beach Blvd. from Beach 149th to Beach 120th Street to cheer on Hope for the Warriors as they arrive into town for a weekend of fun on the water.

Rockaway Beach Civic Association Meeting

On Thursday, July 10 at 7 p.m., head to the Knights of Columbus (333 Beach 90th Street) back patio for the RBCA meeting. Speakers include Kim Fraczek, Director and JK Canepa, Coordinator of Sane Energy Project and Saylor Pochan, Chair Emeritus of Surfrider Foundation NYC, to discuss the revived Williams NESE Pipeline Proposal and next steps.

Jamaica Bay Book Club

On Friday, July 11 and July 25 at 2 p.m., head to the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge for book club! Read selections of nature-themed literature, and together think critically about nature literature. On Saturday, July 12 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., head to Edgemere Farm (385 Beach 45th Street) for a free art workshop for kids ages 4-9. Explore the farm to hunt for critters and use fingerpaints on nature-inspired palettes to create flowers and bugs.

Queens Jazz Trail Concert

On Thursday, July 17 at 7 p.m., head to the Beach 94th Amphitheater for a free jazz performance by Rubén Coca Quintet. They deliver high-energy jazz and Latin jazz with soulful flair and precision.

Rockaway Refresh at B. 86th

On Monday, July 7 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., head to Beach 86th and the boardwalk for a shoreline cleanup with JBRPC after the busy weekend.

Birding for Beginners

On Sundays through July 27 at 2 p.m. head to the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge to join a ranger to take a nature walk, and learn the basics of bird identification and appreciation. Bug spray and sunscreen are recommended, binoculars available.
