On Friday, October 24 at 6:30 p.m., head to the Floyd Bennett Field Community Garden to join the Amateur Astronomers Association for free observing sessions of the night sky.

Rockaway Beach Marathon/ Half/ 5K

On Saturday, October 25, Rockaway Track Club hosts its Rockaway Beach Marathon, half marathon and 5K run. Bib and t-shirt pickup and day-of registration at Beach 94th Amphitheater starting at 6:30 a.m. Runs begin 8 a.m. on the boardwalk. See www.rockawaytc.org to register.

Rockaway Social Club 1st Anniversary

On Saturday, October 25 from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., head to Rockaplay Social Club (68-20 Rockaway Beach Blvd.) for a day of birthday fun. Play sessions include cupcakes, sensory bins, bounce house access and more! 100th Precinct Parade and Trunk or Treat

On Saturday, October 25 at 12 p.m., head to the boardwalk at Beach 102nd for the 100th Precinct’s Halloween Parade. Costumes encouraged! March to the Precinct at 92-24 Rockaway Beach Blvd. for Trunk or Treat immediately following, until 3 p.m.

On Saturday, October 25 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., head to the Rockaway Beach Surf Club (302 Beach 87th Street) to shop from local vendors.

Halloween Dog Party

On Saturday, October 25 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., head to the Rockaway Freeway Dog Park (83-02 Beach Channel Dr.), for Tail Waggers’ doggy costume party. Games, prizes and more. $10 to enter the costume contest, with judging at 3 p.m.

On Saturday, October 25 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., head to the Riis boardwalk just after Beach 149th, to join Sapphic Surf, a queer surf collective, Riis Beach Bloc Association, and JBRPC for a beach cleanup. Halloween costumes welcome. Begin with group stretching and end with an optional ocean dip.
