Vernal Equinox Hike
On Friday, March 20 at 11 a.m., head to the Chapel at Fort Tilden to celebrate the first day of spring by going on a 2-mile hike. All ages. Dress for the weather. Be prepared to walk 2 miles across uneven terrain, hills and stairs. On-site parking is available at Fort Tilden.
Jamaica Bay Community Cleanup
On Saturday, March 21 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., head to Dubos Point Wildlife Sanctuary at De Costa Avenue and Beach 65th Street to join RISE for a cleanup. All welcome. Students may receive community service hours.
Discovery Hike: Marine Mammals
On Sunday, March 22 at 1 p.m., head to Beach 44th and the boardwalk to join an Urban Park Ranger for a walk to search for and discuss marine mammals and what you can do if you spot one in distress.
A Taste of Natural Healing
On Monday, March 23 at 10 a.m., head to RISE (58-03 Rockaway Beach Blvd.) as Alexandra G. Taggart, certified instructor of Dragon’s Way Qigong, leads a FREE thirty-minute class. The Four Energy Gates is a practice to awaken the body’s energy flow. Think almost like an acupuncture treatment, but you are the practitioner!

On Monday, March 23 at 11 a.m., head to RISE (58-03 Rockaway Beach Blvd.) as Ann Fosteris teaches a FREE exercise class. For all ages and fitness levels.
Core on the Floor
On Monday, March 23 at 11:45 a.m., head to RISE (58-03 Rockaway Beach Blvd.) for a FREE thirty-minute class, led by Ann Fosteris, that focuses on core and lower body. Participants should bring their own mats. All levels!
100th Precinct Community Council
On Wednesday, March 25 at 7 p.m., head to the Knights of Columbus (333 Beach 90th Street) for the monthly 100th Precinct meeting. Hear updates from the precinct and ask questions.
CERT Training
On Thursday, March 26 at 6:30 p.m., head to the Joseph P. Addabbo Family Health Center (6200 Beach Channel Dr.) for Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) orientation. Receive intensive training in emergency preparedness, fire safety, light search and rescue, disaster medical operations, and more. Those 18 and older can register at https://nyc.gov/cert

Hunt
On Saturday, March 28 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., head to the playground at Beach 107th and Shore Front Parkway for the 100th Precinct’s Easter Egg Hunt. Recommended for ages 12 and under. Bring a basket.
Body Weight Circuit
Training
On Tuesdays at 7 p.m., head to the Sorrentino Recreation Center (18-48 Cornaga Ave.) for a free body weight circuit training class with Edith. Membership not required. Ongoing through May.
Rockaway Game Club

On Saturdays at 11 a.m., head the Far Rockaway Library (1637 Central Ave.) to join Gloria for Cardio Punch, a total body workout for all levels. Punch to the rhythms of motivating music. Through April.
Aging Mastery Program
Kingsborough Community College is hosting a free virtual program for those 50 and older on Tuesdays from April 21 through June 16 from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. Topics include navigating longer lives, exercise & you, sleep, healthy eating and hydration, financial fitness, medication management, advance planning, healthy relationships, fall prevention, community engagement and more!
