9/11 Mosaic Fundraiser
On Friday, April 10 at 7 p.m., head to the Belle Harbor Yacht Club (533 Beach 126th Street) for a fundraiser to help restore the 9/11 mosaic at Tribute Park. Live music, buffet dinner, open bar, raffles, etc. Tickets are $150. Head to www.rockaways9-11tributepark.com/
Spring Marathon, Half & 5K
On Saturday, April 11, Rockaway Track Club hosts its marathon, half marathon and 5K. Bib pickup, t-shirts and check in starting at 6:30 a.m. at the Beach 94th Amphitheater. Races begin on the boardwalk at 8 a.m. Pre-register at www.rockawaytc.org
Community Dune Planting
On Saturday, April 11 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., head to RISE (58-03 Rockaway Beach Blvd.) to join RISE for a community planting. Help establish native grasses and shrubs on dunes along the east end of the Rockaways. All welcome. Students may receive community service hours. Dress accordingly. Park Pals: Signs of Spring
On Sunday, April 12 at 10 a.m., head to “The Nest” at Floyd Bennett Field to join JBRPC for Park Pals, an early childhood family program for children ages 0–6 and their caregivers. Enjoy making colorful leaf prints and flower crafts, listening to a springtime story, and exploring sensory play inspired by the sights and sounds of the season. Then take a guided walk to the shoreline and fields, where you’ll look for wildflowers, listen for bird calls, and other signs of spring. Register at www.jbrpc.org/events
VFW Dock Fundraiser
On Sunday, April 12, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., head to VFW Post 260 (705 Shad Creek Road) in Broad Channel for a fundraiser to build a dock for the veterans. Live music, 50/50 raffle, cash bar, filmed interviews with Walker Hornung and Owen Loof. $10 to enter.
A Taste of Natural Healing
On Monday, April 13 at 10 a.m., head to RISE (58-03 Rockaway Beach Blvd.) as Alexandra G. Taggart, certified instructor of Dragon’s Way Qigong, leads a FREE thirty-minute class. The Four Energy Gates is a practice to awaken the body’s energy. Think almost like an acupuncture treatment, but you are the practitioner!

Core on the Floor
On Monday, April 13 at 11:45 a.m., head to RISE (58-03 Rockaway Beach Blvd.) for a FREE thirty-minute class, led by Ann Fosteris, that focuses on core and lower body. Participants should bring their own mats. All levels!

Body Weight Circuit Training
On Tuesdays at 7 p.m., head to the Sorrentino Recreation Center (18-48 Cornaga Ave.) for a free body weight circuit training class with Edith. Membership not required. Ongoing through May.
