Stay Healthy!

On Thursdays, December 21 and 28 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., head to Queens Public Library at Far Rockaway (10-03 Beach 20th Street) to join RISE in staying healthy this winter. Obtain your flu shot and/or COVID-19 vaccine from the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.

NCO A Build the Block Meeting

On Thursday, December 21 at 5 p.m., head to the Rockaway YMCA (207 Beach 73rd Street) to address concerns with NYPD Neighborhood Coordination Sector Adam officers (Police officers Krieger and Postupak) Sector Adam covers Beach 59th Street to Beach 90th Street.

Santa Sleigh Run

On Saturday. December 23 starting at 10 a.m., look out and listen for the MakeMyMotherProud Santa Sleigh stopping at various locations and handing out toys. Starts at Redfern Houses (Redfern Ave & Hassock St.) at 10 a.m., Beach 45th Cornerstone (426 Beach 40th St.) at 11:45 a.m., Ocean Bay Cornerstone (57-10 Beach Channel Dr.) at 12:30 p.m., 71-15 Beach Channel Dr. at 1:30 p.m., Hammels Houses (81-14 Rockaway Beach Blvd.) at 2:15 p.m. and Beach 116th at 3 p.m.  All times estimated.

Giveaway

On Sunday, December 24 from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m., head to Mt. Carmel Baptist Church at 348 Beach 71st Street for the 12th Annual Christmas Toy Giveaway. Children must be present. 100th Precinct Community Council

Kids Holiday Craft Club

On Thursdays through December 28 at 4 p.m., head to Peninsula Library (92-25 Rockaway Beach Blvd.) for kids to make a free holiday craft.

Arverne East Nature Preserve Exploration

On Saturday, December 30 at 11 a.m., head to the Arverne East Nature Preserve at Beach 44th and the boardwalk to join on a nature hike to discover plants and animals. Bring binoculars.

Winter Wander

On Saturday, December 30 at 1 p.m., head to the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge to wander with a Park Ranger while it’s a winter wonderland! Explore how plants and animals at the park survive and adapt to the winter. Open to all ages. This is an all-weather walk, so please dress for the conditions.

Cardio Punch

On Saturdays at 11 a.m., head to Seaside Library (116-15 Rockaway Beach Blvd.)  to join Gloria for this total-body, non-contact workout for all fitness levels.
