 Tight Games in RLL’s Home Stretch

The Rockaway Little League season is in the stretch run, with just a few games left before the playoffs. Last weekend saw several tight contests.

In Minor Boys, the undefeated Giuseppe’s Barbershop held off second place TK Foundation, 7-6. The playoffs begin on June 14 in this division.

In Major Girls, the top two teams –Belle Harbor & Neponsit Living and Z-Shells– split a pair on Saturday. Second place Z-Shells powered to a 16-7 victory in the opener, but division leader BH-N Living rebounded to take the nightcap, 6-3. The playoffs also begin on June 14 for Major Girls.

In Minor Girls, first-place Berkshire Hathaway posted a strong performance, beating third-place Rockaway Beach Athletic, 16-5. Second-place Shannon Florist squeaked by the Wharf Brats, 5-4. The playoffs begin on June 14 in this division.

Pee Wee Seniors saw a couple of tight affairs on Saturday. Ridgewood Bank nipped Crustino’s Pizza, 7-6. McManus Plumbing rallied to beat second-place Meat Up Grill, 8-5. Playoffs begin on June 20 for this division.

Please come out to cheer the girls and boys as the softball and baseball seasons reach their exciting conclusion.
