Two Meetings to Discuss Proposed School
Want your say in a new elementary school for Rockaway Beach? There are two upcoming meetings to share your thoughts on a proposed K-4 public school.
The proposed school will focus on environmental education, dual-language learning, and fostering emotional intelligence to create kind, capable, and collaborative citizens.
There will be two meetings to 1) Learn about the school’s mission, vision, and core pillars; 2) Share your thoughts on the needs of our community and how the school can serve our children and families; and 3) Ask questions and provide input on the enrollment process, curriculum, and more.
The first meeting is Saturday, February 22 at 10 a.m. at Peninsula Library (92-25 Rockaway Beach Boulebard) and the second is Wednesday, February 26 at 4 p.m. at RISE (58-03 Rockaway Beach Boulevard).
The organizers of the meetings say, “We believe that building a school starts with listening to the voices of the community. Whether you’re a parent, educator, or neighbor, your perspective is invaluable to shaping a school that reflects the unique spirit of Rockaway Beach.”
