Volunteers Needed for Bay Wall Painting

Volunteers Needed for Bay Wall Painting

It’s time for a spring spruce up! Maureen Walsh is teaming up with NYC Parks and Councilwoman Joann Ariola’s office on an effort to re-paint the bay wall from Beach 117th to Beach 123rd Street, and they could use some help!

The bay wall could use a fresh coat, as it was last painted by volunteers more than 10 years ago. And volunteers are needed once again. They hope to get started on Saturday, April 20 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. All volunteers will meet at Beach 123rd Street at 9 a.m. They are also open to doing it the week of April 20-27 since public schools are off and April 27 is Earth Day.

Anyone who is 16 years old and up is welcome to join. Paint will be provided by NYC Parks. Volunteers are encouraged to wear clothing that they don’t mind getting paint on and are asked to bring a paint brush, roller pan, roller and roller cover.

Anyone who is interested in volunteering can call Maureen Walsh at: 347-731-0285.
