Welcome Home to St. Camillus
Dear Editor:
It has been several months that I have been writing about St. Camillus. I feel more hopeful as each week passes. There is a renewed energy within the parish. We are embracing new parishioners and families attending Mass, the return of parishioners who thought St. Camillus was closing, hearing the voices of children, singing and praying together, processions to receive the Eucharist, celebrating the accomplishments of the youth of the parish. We are grateful for the extension of time so we can come together to pray, sing, to build fellowship and be with the Lord in St. Camillus. Through these months, I believe we have all acknowledged the hole, the void that Rockaway would experience if St. Camillus were to be erased from the community. Thank you for coming back to St. Camillus. Witnessing this new energy has inspired us to slowly plan spiritual and fellowship events to strengthen this energy. So now we need to take another leap of faith to continue our commitment to St. Camillus with attendance, collections, and participation in these events. We will only be successful if we work together, pray together and then leave it in the hands of the Lord.
Please join a special Facebook page called Save St. Camillus Church where the details of events and initiatives can be found. On this page feel free to suggest ideas or events you are interested in so they can be considered.
