WrestleMania 40 Results!!!
Welcome to another week of Wrestle Talk! I hope everyone got a chance to watch this year’s WrestleMania 40. If you didn’t, we have it covered, as we will be going over the results for both Night 1 and 2, so let’s dive right into it!
WrestleMania 40 Night 1 Results:
Women’s World Championship Match – Rhea Ripley defeated Becky Lynch for the Women’s World Championship. This was my favorite match of Night 1. I have to say, I expected Becky Lynch to win but Rhea looked phenomenal and pulled out the win. Rhea’s future is looking real good as she looks unstoppable. Who will finally beat Rhea? Let us know your prediction!
WWE Intercontinental Championship Match – Sami Zayn defeated GUNTHER in the Six Pack Ladder Tag Team Match to become the New International Champion. This was an excellent match and a very well-deserved win for Sami Zayn. It’s great seeing him come from his days in the independent scene to appearing in WrestleMania.
WWE Tag Team Championship Match – A-Town Down Under won the Smackdown Tag Team Championship and Awesome Truth won Raw Tag Team Championships.
– Jey Uso defeated Jimmy Uso
– Rey Mysterio & Andrade defeated Dominik Mysterio & Santos Escobar
– Jade Cargill & Bianca Belair & Naomi defeated Damage CTRL
– The Rock & Roman Reigns defeated Cody Rhodes & Seth Rollins in the Main Event.
WrestleMania 40 Night 2 Results:
WWE Universal Championship Match – Cody Rhodes defeated Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship. This was my favorite match of Night 2. There was a lot of emotion going into this match, and the back-and-forth action was insane. In this match, we got to see the legendary Undertaker and Seth Rollins in his former gimmick as part of The Shield. In the end, Cody finally finished his story and became the New Universal Champion.
WWE Women’s Championship Match – Bayley defeated Iyo Sky to be the New Women’s Champion.
WWE United States Championship – Logan Paul successfully defended his championship title against Randy Orton and Kevin Owens. I was very disappointed with the ending of this match, as I hoped Logan Paul would lose. Hopefully, next time he will.
– LA Knight defeated AJ Styles
– Bobby Lashley & The Street Profits defeated The Final Testament.
WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match – Damien Priest defeated Drew McIntyre & Seth Rollins for the Heavyweight Championship.
So, overall, it was a decent WrestleMania, definitely not one of my favorites. I felt the crowd heat was down for many of the matches, and they didn’t have that high energy throughout the show on both nights. I am happy to see Cody Rhodes as Universal Champion and I’m looking forward to his new story as champion. I’m especially excited to see Cody Rhodes vs CM Punk in a future match. Logan Paul sucks and I can’t wait for somebody to beat him already. Disappointed seeing Seth Rollins lose the WWE Heavyweight Champion, but he will recover quickly and move on.
