Go Vote
Dear Editor:
In the last mayoral race, less than 25% of registered voters went to the polls to vote. Not many people are aware that when you call the office of our elected officials with a complaint or matter to be resolved, they look to see if you voted in their last election. They don’t know how you voted but if you didn’t vote, they know it wasn’t a vote for them. If you are happy with how our city is being run, don’t vote. After all, the vote you don’t cast is a vote for the winner. Why let others decide for you?
Rockaway voices are hardly ever heard. Let’s change that and show the city our voice counts. And if the voice is loud enough, they won’t ignore it—unless they want to hear that roar in the next election, and it won’t be for them or their party.
Early voting is October 25 to November 2. Election day is November 4. Get out and roar with your vote!
