Lady Celtics Split Games at Memorial Day Shootout in Fairfield, New Jersey
The Lady Celtics faced a challenging weekend at the Memorial Day Shootout on Saturday, May 24, where they experienced both a setback and a comeback.
In their opening game, the team suffered a loss, but they quickly bounced back to secure a victory in their second match, defeating their opponents 45-40. Niamh Mullen played a pivotal role in the team’s success, running the offense and effectively navigating the opponent’s press. “She is relentless on defense and smart on offense,” praised Coach Ellen McDonagh. “She works hard every play.” Dakota Duffy was a sharpshooter from the three-point line, adding 14 points to the scoreboard. Kinley Hearn also made her mark, adding 10 points.
Additionally, Annie McDonagh’s rebounding and Lila Costin’s hustle were crucial in sealing the hard-fought victory.
