Rockaway Celtics Win Over Memorial Day Weekend

The 7th grade boys Rockaway Celtics basketball team showcased their skills and determination, defeating Game 7 White with a commanding final score of 51-35 on Sunday, May 25.

Point guard Jack Belford led the team with impressive play both on offense and defense, orchestrating key plays throughout the game. Joe Bean stood out as a scoring powerhouse, netting 20 points to contribute significantly to the Celtics’ victory. Timmy McDonagh and Thomas Tacconi dominated the boards, ensuring vital rebounds that kept the Celtics in control. Johnny Evangelista delivered several crucial baskets that kept up the team’s momentum, while Silas Porcella showed his versatility by contributing in multiple facets of the game and added seven points to the scoreboard. Johnny Ray Roggenkamp expertly moved the ball, facilitating some fantastic offensive plays that kept the pressure on their opponents.

The team is currently in first place for the Island Garden Spring League.
