Latest on CM Punk, Will Ospreay & Brian Pillman Jr.

Hi Wrestle Talk Fans! Welcome to another week! We have much to talk about, so let’s dive right in!

So, the CM Punk saga continues. As for this week, there are reports that he may be potentially joining IMPACT Wrestling. Now, before this news came out, the reports out there were saying that CM Punk might be making his return to the WWE at the next Survivor Series Premium Live Event. But, officially, the WWE has stated they rejected the idea of him returning to the company. Now, CM Punk has been reportedly seen backstage at the October 22, 2023 television edition of IMPACT Wrestling, which was held in Chicago, CM Punk’s hometown. According to the reports, under the right circumstances, CM Punk would be interested in signing with IMPACT Wrestling. We will keep a very close eye on this story and keep you updated.

We have news on New Japan Pro Wrestling Superstar Will Ospreay. He has recently appeared for IMPACT Wrestling at their Bound For Glory event, leading to speculation that once his contract with NJPW expires, he will join IMPACT Wrestling. Will is the current IWGP United Kingdom Champion for NJPW. In my opinion, a run with any U.S. wrestling company would be good for his career, so, let’s not forget the WWE. Which, at any time, can throw their hat in the ring and attempt to sign him. Will’s contract with NJPW is scheduled to expire next year, February 2024.

Staying with NJPW, they announced that Jon Moxley will be making a return to the company. He is scheduled to appear at this year’s Power Struggle live event against Great-O-Khan, a member of Will Ospreay’s United Empire Stable. Now, Great-O-Khan, has gone on to state that he will defeat Jon Moxley, and go on to face the current AEW World Champion MJF. That’s a bold statement to make, as beating Jon Moxley is not an easy thing to do. So, I guess we will see on November 3 if his claims become reality.

We have an update on former NXT UK Women’s Champions Meiko Satomura, who hasn’t been seen on NXT television for close to eight months. As per Dave Meltzer from the Wrestling Observer, the reason for not seeing her on television is because “she was mainly hired as a coach.” We wish Meiko the best in her position.

The Question of the Week comes from Steven K., in Rockaway Beach, and he asked, “I lost track of Brain Pillman Jr., as the last time I saw him was in AEW. Is he still with them?” Hi, Steven, no, he is no longer with AEW. Brian Pillman Jr. is scheduled to appear in the Halloween Havoc Night 1 Edition of WWE NXT. He also has been repackaged, and his new name is Lexis King. That’s all I have about him. His debut with WWE NXT will be on October 24, 2023. Thanks for the question!
