RB Volleyball League Champs Crowned

The good weather gods brought out the sunshine and warm temps for a perfect day of volleyball. The 2024 Rockaway Beach Volleyball League season came to an end with the championship on Saturday, August 10 and 10 teams won the coveted championship sweatshirts.

On a beautiful Saturday, Riis Park’s Bay 9 was packed with players and spectators who enjoyed food catered by Deirdre Maeve’s Supermarket and music by DJ James Tubridy. It was a day of fierce competition but only one team in each division could be crowned champs. They include 5 Rock for the Beach Breeze division, Fams Breakaways for the Beach division, Rincon Gringos in the Boardwalk division, Boarders Surf Shop in the Moon division, Bugalou for the Ocean Breeze division, Bungalow Bar in the Ocean division, Cheese Fries in the Star division, Billy Macs for the Sunray division, Five O’Clock Somewhere for the Sun division, and Batesy’s BBQ for the Wave division.

Thanks to the RBVL management team of Steve Gifford, John Sica, Colleen McHale, Noreen Gallagher, Theresa Sutterlin, Denise Brunner and Patty Moule for their hard work and dedication to keeping the RBVL moving forward despite all obstacles over the last few years.
