Sunday, March 24 was an eggcelent day for an Easter egg hunt! The 100th Precinct’s Easter egg hunt was a big success.
Despite feeling a little more like winter than spring, hundreds of kids came out to partake in the fun. Volunteers scattered goodie-filled eggs all around Sandpiper Playground at Beach 107th and Shore Front Parkway on Sunday morning, in anticipation of kids doing their due diligence to collect the most and find the coveted golden egg for an even bigger prize. Kids flooded into the park all morning, finding eggs on jungle gyms, behind rocks, in the grass and beyond.
The Easter bunny, accompanied by Councilwoman Joann Ariola, was on hand to give hugs, take photos and hand out some Madeleine chocolate eggs to all of the kids. Plus, everyone got to enjoy DJ music, popcorn and cotton candy.
The event was made possible by the 100th Precinct Community Council, the 100th Precinct Community Affairs officers, Ridgewood Savings Bank, Neponsit Homeowners Association, Belle Harbor Property Owners Association, Rockaway Civic Association, The Rockaway Recycle Program, Stop & Shop, The Millennium Development, The Kiwanis Club and Councilwoman Ariola.
