The Book of Ruth

Ruth Wachner Pagirsky, passed away this past March, in her home in Belle Harbor where she lived for 63 years.

Ruth, a survivor of the Holocaust, was a renowned speaker and author, who touched the lives of thousands of students, teachers and adults when she recounted the story of her survival and the lessons courage, resilience and hope, that she instilled in others.  Her book “Memoirs” has been read throughout the world.

On Sunday, October 23, at 2 p.m., the Museum of Jewish Heritage (www.mjhnyc.org/book-of-ruth) will be hosting a multi-media commemoration of Ruth’s life and lessons in a program that will feature 25 members of the Metropolitan Opera.

Tickets for this event are still available through the museum’s website, and the program can be watched live or by Zoom. Proceeds from this program will go the permanent Children’s Exhibition and Family Center which will open at the Museum in the Fall of 2023.
