On Friday, December 6 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., head to the Belle Harbor Yacht Club (533 Beach 126th Street) to shop from 40+ vendors, enjoy raffles, live music, a 50/50 and more.

 

Broad Channel Craft & Gift Sale

On Friday, December 6 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday, December 7 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., head to the American Legion Hall (209 Cross Bay Blvd.) in Broad Channel to shop for homemade decorations, ornaments, crafts and more. Proceeds benefit local churches and organizations.

 

Christmas Bazaar

On Saturday, December 7 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., head to First Congregational Church (320 Beach 94th Street) to shop from dozens of local vendors selling food, jewelry, crafts, ornaments, beauty products and more.

 

Winter Bird Walk

On Saturday, December 7 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., head to RISE (58-03 Rockaway Beach Blvd.) for an educational winter bird walk with NYC Plover Project. Dress for the weather. In case of inclement weather, a rain date is scheduled for Saturday, December 14.

 

RB Civic Ornament Painting

On Saturday, December 7 from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m., head to Peninsula Library (92-25 Rockaway Beach Blvd.) to join Rockaway Beach Civic Association for a free ornament painting event. Supplies provided.

 

Holiday Makers Market

On Saturday, December 7 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., head to Beach 97th and the boardwalk for the Rockaway Holiday Makers Market to buy goods from local vendors.

 

Free Yoga Experience

On Saturday, December 7 at 3:15 p.m. and 4 p.m., head to ZenTora (114-06 Rockaway Beach Blvd.). to try Aerial yoga, Fascial Maneuvers, and Stretching and Breath-work classes for free.

 

Little North Pole Lighting

On Saturday, December 7 at 3:30 p.m., head to Joe Mure’s home (144-03 Neponsit Ave.) for the annual lighting of the Little North Pole! Performances, food, toys from Santa and more!

 

Jamaica Bay Nature Walk

On Sunday, December 8 at 1 p.m., head to the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge to explore the West Pond with a park ranger and discover what the Bay is showing off. All-weather walk, so dress for the conditions.

 

Floyd Bennett Field: Naval Airstation

On Sunday, December 8 at 2 p.m., head to the Ryan Visitor Center at Floyd Bennett Field in Brooklyn to join a park ranger for a history talk and slide presentation on Naval Air Station – New York, America’s busiest naval air station during World War II, 1941 – 1945.

 

Broad Channel Tree Lighting

On Sunday, December 8 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., head to the BCAC Memorial Field (125 Cross Bay Blvd.)  for Broad Channel’s tree lighting with performances, hot cocoa, a visit by Santa, crafts, letter writing and more.

 

Cardio Punch

On Saturdays through May 3, at 11 a.m., head to the Far Rockaway Library (1637 Central Ave.) to join Gloria for this total-body, non-contact workout for all fitness levels.

 

Master Fitness™

On Mondays from 11 a.m. to 11:45 a.m., head to RISE (58-03 Rockaway Beach Boulevard), as Ann Fosteris teaches a free 45-minute exercise class. All ages and levels welcome!

 

Core on the Floor

On Mondays from 11:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., head to RISE (58-03 Rockaway Beach Boulevard), as Ann Fosteris leads a free 30-minute class focusing on core and lower body. Bring a mat. All levels welcome!

 

Bodyweight Circuit Training

On Tuesdays at 5 p.m., head to The B.R.I.D.G.E. (217 Beach 92nd Street) for a circuit training class that combines bodyweight resistance training and conditioning for a full-body workout. All levels welcome. Bring a mat.  First-come, first-served.

 

Uplifted Dance Fitness

On Mondays and Tuesdays at 11 a.m., head to Redfern Community Center (1544 Hassock Street) for a free dance workout class with Miss Dawn.
