Fire Breaks Out in Arverne Home
On Wednesday, December 28, a three-alarm blaze broke out in a home in Arverne, leaving three families displaced before the New Year.
Roughly 30 FDNY units, including Engine 265, Ladder 121, Battalion 47, Engine 266, Engine 268 and Ladder 137 responded to the call around 1 p.m. The fire started in the basement of the two-and-a-half story home located at 327 Beach 68th Street. The fire spread to the attic. By 2:23 p.m., the fire was under control.
Fortunately, no one was injured, but three families were displaced. The cause is under investigation.
