The B.R.I.D.G.E. & Episcopal Health Participate in NY Mets Resource Fair
On Tuesday, August 13, local organizations including the B.R.I.D.G.E. Family Enrichment Center, St. John’s ICARE Foundation and the Queens Public Library participated in the Queens Community Resource Fair in the NY Mets’ Bullpen Plaza at Citi Field to share some information about what they offer, with the greater Queens area.
“We enjoyed a vibrant atmosphere filled with music, food, and enthusiastic fans. It was a great occasion for spreading awareness about the resources and support available in our area,” Curtis Turney Rentas, director of The B.R.I.D.G.E. said.
The B.R.I.D.G.E. Family Enrichment Center also had the privilege of bringing 10 Rockaway residents to the event, where they not only participated in the fair but also stayed to watch the New York Mets take on the Oakland A’s. “It was a memorable experience, and the residents thoroughly enjoyed the game and the overall atmosphere,” Turney Rentas said.
The event was part of the New York Mets’ “A Celebration of Queens Culture,” on August 13 and 14. The festival was designed to honor the immensely diverse community surrounding Queens through food, music and art. The B.R.I.D.G.E. and Episcopal Health Services were a part of the resource portion, where about 20 Queens organizations had tables with information about their offerings.
