Roast of The Best

Dressed Man

On Thursday, June 6 at 7 p.m., head to Connolly’s on Beach 95th Street for a roast of the Best Dressed Man in Rockaway, hosted by the Bettina Show. Enjoy as friends take good natured jibes at Owen Loof before he gets a chance to roast back.

 

First Congregational Thrift Sale

On Saturday, June 8 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., head to First Congregational Church (320 Beach 94th Street) for a Thrift Sale in the Church Basement. There will also be a Vendor Market on the lawn. New and used items for sale, $2 clothing (many summer items), houseware, kitchenware, pocketbooks, seasonal items, jewelry.

Horseshoe Crab Festival

On Saturday, June 8 at 10 a.m., head to Sunset Cove on West 19th Road in Broad Channel to celebrate these ancient sea critters. Enjoy activities for the family, meet the crabs on the beach and learn fascinating facts about them.

 

Irish Festival

On Saturday, June 8 and Sunday, June 9 from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., head to the St. Camillus parking lot on Beach 100th Street to enjoy two days of Irish music, vendors, food, drinks and family fun. $15 admission for adults. Kids are free.

 

RAA’s ‘All Who Wander’

On Saturday, June 8 and Sunday, June 9 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., head to T7 Gallery in Fort Tilden for Rockaway Artists Alliance’s summer exhibition, “All Who Wander.” On view through August 17.

 

Bike the Block

On Saturday, June 8 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., head to Rockaway Freeway between Beach 56th Place and Beach 59th Street for a day of free fun-filled bike-related activities. Enjoy a bike helmet giveaway. Kids on training wheels can pedal a smoothie bike to make their own fruit drinks, and work on your biking skills.

Baby Birds

On Sunday, June 9 at 11 a.m., head to the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge to join Ranger Flor and learn about how the Jamaica Bay Wildlife provides a safe space for many different species of wild birds to raise their young.

 

Cardio Punch

On Saturdays at 11 a.m., head to Beach 60th and the boardwalk to join Gloria for this total-body, non-contact workout for all fitness levels.

 

Master Fitness™

On Mondays from 11 a.m. to 11:45 a.m., head to RISE (58-03 Rockaway Beach Boulevard), as Ann Fosteris teaches a free 45-minute exercise class. All ages and fitness levels are welcome!

 

Core on the Floor

On Mondays from 11:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., head to RISE (58-03 Rockaway Beach Boulevard), as Ann Fosteris leads a free 30-minute class focusing on core and lower body.

Participants should bring their own mats. All levels are welcome!

 

Yoga with Soupy

On Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8:30 a.m., head to Beach 102nd Street for a yoga class led by Soup Campbell.

 

Serene Yoga on the Beach
