Too Bad, Laties

(In response to January 18’s McVeighing In) Great article on lateness. A friend suggested this and it worked. We were having a little dinner get together with family to celebrate an engagement when the habitually late showed up two hours later than when I said we would eat. This was pre-cellphones. To say the dinner was crispy is an overstatement and the happy occasion didn’t go as planned. I mentioned this to a friend of mine, and she said “When I tell people we eat at 5, we eat at 5. We clean up and if you’re late too bad. We’re not running a diner.” Tried it and it works!
