Updates On Kazuchika Okada, CM Punk & Sting’s Retirement
Hey Wrestle Talk fans! We have lots to talk about, so let’s dive right in!
Former NJPW Superstar Kazuchika Okada has finally made his official debut in All Elite Wrestling (AEW). On the March 6 Dynamite Show, Okada made his debut and turned heel by attacking Eddie Kingston and joining forces with The Young Bucks. This puts Okada right on top of the company in regard to storylines. I’m finally happy to see Okada back in the states, and I look forward to seeing his career grow in AEW.
So, for all those who have been emailing me about CM Punk and when he is expected to return… Well, he will be making an appearance on the March 25 edition of WWE Raw. Now, let’s remember that he is still injured and recovering. He is still scheduled to miss this year’s WrestleMania Show, and pretty much the rest of 2024. The March 25 appearance is scheduled to be in his hometown of Chicago, Illinois. Now, what part will he play with this appearance? I can only speculate, but I feel he will make his influence felt and directed towards Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns. We shall see!
So, last week I was asked a question about Paul Heyman being inducted into this year’s Hall of Fame Class of 2024. I felt like it wasn’t the right time for him to be inducted. I do agree with the announcement of the next inductee, the greatest boxer of all time, Muhammad Ali! He will be immortalized in this year’s Hall of Fame, and he now joins, Mike Rotunda, Barry Windham, Bull Nakano and Paul Heyman as this year’s inductees.
I’m happy to announce this, and many of you have already seen it, but Sting has finally retired from pro wrestling. His last match was held on the March 3 on AEW’s Revolution Live Premium Event. His last match saw legends Ric Flair and Ricky Steamboat get directly involved in the match. It was great seeing NWA Legend’s Magnum TA, Lex Luger, Nikita Volkoff, Diamond Dallas Page and Scotty Riggs seated ringside to watch Sting’s last match. I, myself, have always been a huge Sting fan and it was great to see him one last time in the ring.
The question of the week comes from Henry M. in Rockaway Beach, and he asked, “Any news on Bo Dallas? Is he wrestling or coming back to the WWE?” Hi Henry, as far as I can confirm, he is still part of the WWE, although he is inactive as a performer. There are rumors about a future Bo Dallas return but nothing further on when or how he would return. I would love to see him return and play a huge role within the WWE. But unfortunately, that’s all the information I have on him. Thanks for the question!
