News On Shayna Baszler, Killer Kelly & The Uso Brothers
Hey Wrestle Talk Fans! Here we are with another week. So let’s dive right in to some wrestling news!
In a recent interview with Fightful Select, WWE Superstar Shayna Baszler talked about her last match with Ronda Rousey. Ronda, who has since retired and has no plans to return to wrestling, had plans for their match to be a Steel Cage of Fight Pit. Shayna stated due to the nature of the match, and the actual physical structure, it was hard to actually make it happen. So, for those fans who hope there will be a Shayna Baszler vs Ronda Rousey II, you will have to continue to hope this match can take place in the WWE or another promotion.
News coming out of TNA Wrestling was former TNA Knockouts Tag Team Champion Killer Kelly was reported to have left the promotion and was finished with wrestling. But now it’s being reported that she is still with the company, as she has a contract with them until August 2025. Killer Kelly is scheduled to take some time off from wrestling.
Recently, former AEW Superstar Shawn Spears has commented on why he chose to leave AEW and go to the WWE. Shawn, who once portrayed the character of Tye Dillinger, made his return to the WWE on the February 27 edition of NXT. Shawn, speaking with Fightful Select, stated that he felt it was time to move on but made sure to leave on good terms with AEW. His return to the WWE was kept a big secret as apparently only those close to Shawn, plus Triple H and Shawn Michael, knew.
AEW Superstars Miro and CJ Perry have announced that they will be separating from their marriage. They were married for eight years.
Speaking of CJ Perry, we would like to wish her a Happy Birthday as she turns 39.
At this year’s WrestleMania, we will see the two brothers, Jey and Jimmy Uso, go one on one for the first time ever. Their father, WWE Hall of Famer Rikishi, has expressed his excitement about the match, but has also stated he wants both brothers to reunite, and walk back to the locker room together after their match. This will be a great match and I am excited to get the opportunity to see it.
The Question of The Week comes from Bobby M. in Belle Harbor, and he said, “I read that Shayna Baszler was working an independent show during WrestleMania 40 Week. Do you know who she will be facing?” Hey Bobby, yes, I do know who she will be facing. She will fight TNA Superstar Masha Slamovich at Josh Barnett’s Blood Sport Event. Josh was able to get the WWE to allow Shayna Baszler to work the show which features matches with No Ropes, and you can only win by Submission or Knock Out. The show will be on April 4, 2024.
