Rockaway Rugby 7’s Success

The Rockaway Fisheads Rugby Club’s 47th annual Rockaway Beach Rugby 7’s tournament was another success.

More than 50 teams hit the fields at Fort Tilden on Saturday, June 17 to compete in several divisions including Premier, Men, Women, High School and Youth. We reached out to the organizers for results but did not receive a response by press time. According to the Fishheads’ Facebook page, Old Blue won the Premier. Syracuse won the open/social division, and a group of Rockaway college kids took the consolation bracket. Local resident Mark Eidinger caught some of the action on camera and sent us these shots.
