Updates On Mercedes Moné, Jericho & Punk & Answering The #1 Question!!!
I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and wishing you all the best in the upcoming New Year!
We started off with something I would categorize as funny news coming from AEW Superstar Chris Jericho and the lawyer who represents current WWE Superstar CM Punk. This centers around the Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDA) that were signed by CM Punk and Ace Steele regarding the situation that happened at AEW All Out Show, that involved the CM Punk altercation that led to his dismissal from the company. Apparently, Ace Steele’s wife wasn’t subject to the NDA, and Chris Jericho went on X to say he didn’t sign an NDA, to which CM Punk’s lawyer responded “It’s in your employee handbook, unless you have a special one. We can figure it out.” This led to Chris Jericho accusing Punk’s lawyer of bullying him, and to be quite honest, the whole thing was childish but entertaining as it unfolded. I guess these must be boring times in the world of pro wrestling???
Staying with CM Punk, he recently shared his favorite holiday tradition, which was putting up the Christmas tree with his wife. He loves Christmas trees and hey, so do I. You may have caught CM Punk in action on the WWE Holiday Tour, as he made his return to Madison Square Garden on December 26, 2023.
Former AEW Superstar William Regal has made his first WWE appearance since leaving AEW. He made an appearance on the NXT Brand Show. I hope to see more of him very soon.
As we previously reported here on Wrestle Talk, there have been talks about a possible return of Mercedes Moné (aka Sasha Banks) to the WWE. Well, there are now reports saying that she might be back in the WWE in the early part of the new year (2024). But there may be a very interesting variable, and that would be Triple H. As he is the current creative officer for the WWE, he had an excellent working relationship with Mercedes Moné. So, this is something that might tip the scales on her returning back. We are keeping a close on eye on this story.
The Question of The Week comes from, well, it comes from 357 emails from you our fans, asking if wrestling is real? Now, I have answered everyone back, but let’s once again answer this question. Yes, wrestling is scripted and choreographed. The outcomes are predetermined, but that actual physicality is real. The bumps taken in the ring are real, the body slams are real, and jumping off the top rope is real. Wrestlers have to train constantly to be able to perform without injuring themselves or the person they are working with. Injuries do happen and it’s an unfortunate part of the business.
But when you are watching wrestling, my advice to you is to suspend disbelief and just enjoy the show the wrestlers are putting on for you. Saying you had fun and enjoyed the show is something that makes the wrestlers very happy to hear! Thanks to all that sent in that question!
