Ronda Rousey Retirement, Adam Copeland’s AEW Debut & More!!!

Welcome to another week of Wrestle Talk! This past week was another week filled with emails, and all with your questions. I promise I will get back to you all. So, let’s not waste any time and dive right into some wrestling news!

As we previously reported here on Wrestle Talk, Ronda Rousey’s last match with the WWE was at the last SummerSlam Live Premium Event where she lost to Shayna Baszler. At that point, Ronda left pro wrestling to spend time with family, and pursue future endeavors in TV and in movies. It was later reported that Ronda may be returning to the UFC, but those reports never materialized. As for wrestling, well, there are no current or future plans for Ronda in the WWE. She has also made postings on Instagram that have been giving the impression that she is staying retired. As for me, I feel Ronda has done enough in the world of pro wrestling and MMA, and she deserves a long and healthy retirement. We wish Ronda all the best in her future endeavors!

So, as the world of professional wrestling said goodbye to WWE Superstar Edge… well, he had a big surprise for everyone as he debuted for All Elite Wrestling (AEW). I was totally surprised to see Edge, now under his real name, Adam Copeland, make his debut at AEW’s WrestleDream Live PPV Event. So, it looks like it’s not over for Adam Copeland, and he looks more determined and energized than I have ever seen him. I’m excited that he is still in pro wrestling, and I look forward to seeing what he will accomplish in AEW.

We in wrestling like to say, “Never Say Never” and the UnderTaker did say that, and now, he made good on those words, as he made his return to WWE NXT, on October 10. He returned and made a surprise appearance to confront NXT Superstar Bron Breakker. At the same time, he gave NXT Superstar Carmelo Hayes a big push by endorsing him. Now, is the UnderTaker back on the roster with the WWE, or was this a one-time appearance? There are reports out there that are saying that this was just a one night only appearance. I guess we will just have to wait and see.

So, the CM Punk rumor mill continues turning, as reports have come in from fans, who attended a recent WWE television taping, that there were a number of CM Punk type teases that made references to CM Punk returning to the WWE. One was WWE Superstar Shinsuke Nakamura using CM Punk’s finishing maneuver, “The Go To Sleep” (GTS), followed by the WWE posing the maneuver on their Instagram page.  This was then followed up by the USA Network replying to the post by writing “Best In The World,” which was a CM Punk moniker. The WWE has stated they are not in any negotiations with Punk, but are these postings purely coincidental….or are they clues to a possible CM Punk debut at this year’s Survivor Series Live Premium Event?

The Question of the Week comes from Tony M. in Far Rockaway, and he asked, “Rhea Ripley and Dominik Mysterio make a great team as members of Judgment Day, but are they romantically linked or is it all a storyline?” Hi Tony, well, great question. Dominik and Rhea are not romantic partners. Their relationship on TV is just an on-screen storyline, and outside the wrestling business, they are good friends. Rhea is engaged to AEW Superstar Buddy Matthew. Thanks for the question!

If you have any questions or comments, please send them to eavil183@yahoo.com, and have a great weekend!
