A Day of Service
On Saturday, September 9, as part of the September 11th National Day of Service and Remembrance, a group of locals gathered to perform an act of service by cleaning up the neighborhood.
After presidential candidate Robert Kennedy put out a call for folks to participate in the Day of Service, Sue Peters organized a neighborhood cleanup under the subway overpass on Beach 67th Street. A group came together and collected 15 bags of trash on the sweltering day.
