A Great Day for Freedom

The skies finally cleared on Saturday afternoon, October 21, just in time for the Fall Freedom Fest on Beach 129th and 130th to take off.

While the weather report may have kept crowds smaller and some activities indoors, it was another great day for Rockaway. Guests paid $20 for a bracelet to enjoy music by Chris Long at Callie’s, the Midnight Society at Pico’s, Wine With Sue at Harbor Light and DJ Poppa D at Jameson’s, plus drink and food specials at each location, including the new Panino Rustico-Baya Bar. The owners of each establishment hope to keep this annual event going and have plans to make it bigger and better each year. Money raised from the event will go to help a local family in need with a sick child.
